Join Lisa Morgan in a discussion on autism and supporting autistic children and adults who are experiencing grief, trauma, and crisis situations. The Autism Crisis Support Toolkit the presenter has developed will be included during the presentation.

Goal: To help community members including educators, providers, and others supporting autistic people have a basic understanding of autism, communicating with autistic people, and how autism impacts processing grief and trauma.

Learning Objectives: After this webinar, attendees should be able to:
1) Explain 3 characteristics of autism.
2) Discuss 2 different ways autistic people experience grief.
3) Describe 3 ways to be culturally competent with autistic people in a group setting.

Presenter: Lisa Morgan, M.Ed. CAS, is co-chair of the Autism and Suicide committee of the American Association of Suicidology. Lisa has a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching in Special Education, is a certified autism specialist, and owner of Lisa Morgan Consulting LLC. She is the author of three books and two autism resources for crisis support in the autism community. Lisa is a community council member of AASET (Autistic Adults and other Stakeholders Engaged Together) a PCORI project to determine the top ten research priorities for autistic adults.
