A letter from Anne

Dear Center for Grieving Children Community,

The safety, health, and well-being of our Center community members is our highest priority.

We believe it is critical to do our part in the global effort to slow the coronavirus pandemic.

Please know that we are taking steps as an organization to minimize the risk of transmission between the families we serve, our dedicated volunteers, and our staff.
We have made the following decisions:
• Suspend all afternoons and evenings of service. The health and safety of our participants and volunteers is paramount to us. This pause will provide us opportunity to continue to monitor the recommendations of the public health experts.
• As of Monday, March 16 we have discontinued all Initial Family Meetings and Peer Support Groups at both the Sanford and Portland locations.
• We have transitioned our Childhood Bereavement Conference scheduled for March 20th to a virtual, web-based conference. Information is posted on the Center’s web site. www.cgcmaine.org
• Effective Tuesday, March 17 all Center staff will begin to work remotely.
The plan, as of 3/16/2020, is to reevaluate in two weeks.

New information and details will regularly be posted on our website.

Grieving children and teens may be particularly vulnerable to anxiety and worry during times of uncertainty. We are here to support our community. We are so grateful for each and every one of our supporters.

Warmly,
Anne Heros
Executive Director
